the trees are beginning to singe.
the sun's harsh beat is receding earlier now, giving way to shadows and halos at play.
the earth basks at the waning summer light in soft focus, preparing for its time to rest.
fall is calling.
i am actively choosing to keep one foot in what's left of this summer. my other foot, however, is tensed and ready to sprint towards my most favourite season - chomping at the bit, to answer her call.
These are beautiful images of your family, Margo. I see what you're saying but I am so over summer :). And it will be summer here for another couple of months.
ReplyDeletethank you for your kind words, michelle! that's means a great deal coming from someone whose photography i adore as well. lol i'm pretty much there, michelle - over summer. but i will be aching for the length of your summer when the winter settles in here. it's as long as your summer, methinks.
DeleteI love these photos! and also, I feel the very same way... I adore fall. xo
ReplyDeletetotally on the same wavelength, becca! thinking of you and of this very special and precious weekend. xo!
DeleteI love the fall. I don't know if its because I was born in October but it is the time of year that speaks to me the most. There is such beauty in the colors, not like in the summer all happy and showy. But its subtle and sad. I also love layers and boots! Yeah I'm ready.
ReplyDelete:) your birthday is coming soon! it's arrived here and ready to settle, to be sure. what about in savannah?
